As a proud Bushwickian for several years, I have had the opportunity to work with the community group Arts in Bushwick. For their 2014 Open Studios event, I was brought on to design collateral for it’s attendees. Given free reign, and working closely with a trusted photographer colleague, we opted to create visceral images with a focus on the idea of ‘hand-as-tool’. We paired these stark photos of local artists’ hands with unconventional typography for an arresting result.
